From the 19th to the 22nd of August the Kabul Agricultural Fair showed off a variety of products and merchandises all sharing one thing in common, i.e. the very special “Made in Afghanistan” brand. The Fair attracted prominent business figures from the region and the world forming 60 delegations from the private sectors of India, China, USA, Turkey, Tajikistan Germany and Pakistan. Afghan Businesses had a chance to display both their products and services to both national and international businesspeople and negotiate potential future business deals. The Fair was organized by USAID-ASAP and the Ministry of Agriculture and attracted record crowds. EPAA was a partner to the event. The exhibition displayed fresh and dry fruits, vegetables, livestock, carpets and much more in over 200 booths. The event aimed at bringing closer Afghan businesses with each other and their foreign counterparts. The Fair was attended by H.E. the First Vice President of Afghanistan and inaugurated by the Minister of Agriculture and attended by key government officials and foreign diplomats. The First Vice President went of to call the Fair “A successful step towards the right direction, but still one step of many more that need to be take,” reminding everyone of the great tasks that still face Afghanistan in rebuilding the economy and re-developing the Agricultural sector and especially the livelihood of farmers.
