| Exports Increase by 13% in 2nd Quarter | | Afghanistan’s 2nd Quarter exports for 2007 have increased by 11% compared to the previous year. Mr. Suleman Fatimie, CEO of Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan stated that “the Central Statistical Bureau and Chambers of Commerce and Industries have affirmed that in the second quarter of 2007, Afghanistan’s exports have reached $112 million compared to $101 million for same period last year”. Mr. Fatimie also emphasized on expansion in the variety of Exports. He mentioned that carpets, fresh fruits, dry fruits, grains, plants, skins and home products are vital areas of export which are serving as a trade mark in Afghan Exports. Afghanistan finds its best markets for Exports in India, Dubai, China, Pakistan, USA and some European countries. EPAA is committed to finding new markets and stands firm in supporting exports, facilitating in export procedures and abolishing internal obstacles in coming years. | | |
