| Saarc Trade Information Portal launches officially |

29,10,2009 The South Asian Association of Regional Countries (SAARC) on Thursday launched the first officeal trade infromation protal.
The SAARC Trade Information Portal launched officially on Thursday 29th of October 2009 in Nepal. The portal aims to provide trade infromation oto the SAARC member nations and a single point of access to reliable trade information generates faster, efficient and cost-effective ways of trading. The data in the portal has been collected from all eight SAARC countries and would continuously be validated by 26 regional and national partners from both the private and public sectors.
All the officials from SAARC member countries appreciated the initiative and assured their full support in updating th portal..
It is worth mentioning that the portal, first of its kind in South Asia, is a product of SAARC Trade Information Project jointly implemented by the funding support from Center (SIC) Nepal and German Technical Cooperation with funding support from German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
